How to read the relay protection line number

A suffix letter or number may be used with the device number; for example, suffix N is used if the device is connected to a Neutral wire (example: 59N in a relay is used for protection against Neutral Displacement); and suffixes X, Y, Z are used for auxiliary devices. Similarly, the "G" suffix can denote a "ground", hence a "51G" is a time overcurrent ground relay. The "G" suffix can also mean "generator", hence an "87G" is a Generator Differential Protective Relay while an "87T" is a Transformer Differentia.

Relay protection longitudinal differential protection

IEC 60255-187-1:2021 specifies the minimum requirements for functional and performance evaluation of (longitudinal) differential protection designed for the detection of faults in ac motors, generators and transformers. This is possible by direct comparison of instantaneous values or by vector (phasor) comparison. Engineering use: It provides fast, selective protection for transformers, buses, generators, motors, and transmission lines.

P3u20 relay protection supply

The Schneider Electric PowerLogic P3U20 is a universal protection relay designed for comprehensive protection and control of feeders and motors. It covers product introduction, installation procedures, configuration using Easergy Pro software, measurement and protection This document provides instructions for the PowerLogic P3 Universal Relays P3U20. Schneider Electric aims to achieve Net Zero status by 2050 through supply chain partnerships, lower impact materials, and circularity via our ongoing “Use Better, Use Longer, Use Again” campaign to extend product lifetimes and recyclability. The Easergy P3 has been renamed to PowerLogic P3. It is essential to emphasize that this renaming exclusively affects the brand name of the products and will have absolutely no consequence on the current performance, specifications. The Schneider Easergy P3U20 Protection Relay offers intelligent, multifunctional protection that handles multiple fault scenarios automatically. But here's the thing: simply installing this relay isn't enough. You need comprehensive knowledge about configuration, commissioning, and optimization.
