The cover plate of a distribution box should be aligned with the sealing strip and fastened diagonally to ensure proper sealing and protection. Proper Installation Steps1. Align the sealing strip: Before attaching the cover plate, check that the sealing strip inside the cover is correctly positioned.

Align the strip with the slot on the edge of the distribution box. Gently snap the cover into place—you should hear a "click" indicating initial fixation. This ensures the seal is not misaligned, which could compromise protection against dust and moisture.

2. Tighten screws diagonally: Use a Phillips screwdriver to secure the cover screws in a diagonal sequence (e.g., top-left → bottom-right → top-right → bottom-left). Tighten each screw until you feel slight resistance, avoiding excessive force that could deform the cover or reduce sealing effectiveness.

3. Check for proper fit and protection: After fastening, ensure the cover sits flush with the box and the sealing strip is compressed evenly. This maintains the box's IP or NEMA rating, protecting internal components like MCBs, RCCBs, busbars, and wiring from environmental hazards.

4. Additional considerations: For plastic boxes, avoid over-tightening screws to prevent cracking. For metal boxes, ensure grounding continuity is maintained when the cover is installed.

Label the cover and box for easy identification during maintenance. Following these steps ensures the distribution box cover plate is securely connected, providing optimal protection and long-term reliability for the electrical system.
