Price of outdoor cable tray fixing accessories

Outdoor cable tray accessories typically range from $5 to $150 per piece, depending on type, material, and size.

Overview of Accessories and Pricing

Outdoor cable tray accessories include splicers, hold-downs, clamps, dropouts, wall supports, and connectors. Prices vary based on material (galvanized steel, aluminum, stainless steel, or polymer), size, and load capacity: Cable Tray Splicers: Used to join two tray sections; typically $10–$50 per splicer depending on material and size (zinc-plated steel or stainless steel).

Hold-

Downs and Clamps: Secure trays in high-vibration or outdoor environments; usually $5–$30 per piece for standard sizes. Dropouts: Allow cables to exit trays without stress; plastic or metal options range from $8–$40 each. Wall and Ceiling Supports: Brackets and hangers for mounting trays; steel or aluminum supports cost $20–$150 depending on load rating and length.

Cover Clamps: For securing tray covers against weather exposure; generally $5–$25 per clamp.

Material Considerations

For outdoor installations, corrosion-resistant materials are essential: Galvanized Steel: Affordable, durable, and widely used; moderate weight. Aluminum: Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, easier to handle; slightly higher cost. Stainless Steel: High durability and corrosion resistance; premium pricing.

Polymer/FRP: Non-conductive, UV-resistant, and lightweight; mid-range cost.

Additional Factors Affecting Price

Tray Width and Depth: Larger trays require larger or more robust accessories. Load Capacity: Heavy-duty trays for industrial applications increase accessory cost. Environmental Exposure: Areas with high humidity, UV, or chemical exposure may require premium materials.

Packaging and Quantity: Bulk packs (e.g., 50-piece splicer kits) reduce per-unit cost.

Practical Guidance

When budgeting for outdoor cable tray accessories: Assess the environment: Choose corrosion-resistant materials suitable for rain, UV, and temperature extremes. Select compatible accessories: Ensure splicers, clamps, and supports match tray type (wire mesh, ladder, or solid-bottom). Consider bulk purchasing: Kits and packs often reduce cost per unit.

Check supplier catalogs: Prices vary by supplier; PLATT Electric, ChannelandTray, and McMaster-Carr offer a range of options. By considering these factors, you can estimate a total accessory cost for outdoor cable tray installations while ensuring durability and compliance with environmental requirements.
