Cable tray connecting plate bolt fixing

Cable tray connecting plates are securely fixed using truss-head bolts and combination nuts, ensuring stability and safe cable support.

Proper Fixing Method

Position the Joint Plate: Insert the straight or angled connector into the inside of the cable tray rail. Clamp the joint plate between the tray sections to align the holes for bolting. Select the Correct Bolts and Nuts: Use FRS M6 truss-head bolts with combination nuts for standard connections.

These provide a strong, vibration-resistant hold. Bolt Installation: Pass the bolts through the tray rail from the inner side to avoid damaging cables. Secure each bolt with a combination nut on the outer side of the tray.

Torque Control: Tighten bolts to the manufacturer's recommended torque to prevent loosening over time, especially in high-vibration environments. Joint Plate Use: For tray widths 400 mm or more, always use a joint plate to prevent transverse bending. For widths up to 300 mm, joint plate installation is optional.

Additional Considerations

Tray Type Compatibility: Both perforated and unperforated trays can be connected using this method. If unperforated trays are cut, re-drill the connector holes before bolting. Safety: Always ensure bolts do not contact cables directly to prevent insulation damage.

Maintenance: Bolted connections allow for easy disassembly for future modifications or maintenance.
